Just a little bit about us...

The Missouri Gay Rodeo Association is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that dedicates itself to preserving the western lifestyle,  producing rodeos and raising funds for charitable organizations within our community.

Over the years, MGRA has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities.  MGRA is a member of the International Gay Rodeo Association (IGRA) which has 31 member associations in the U.S. and Canada. These associations hold approximately 20 sanctioned rodeos each year, including The World Gay Rodeo Finals.

In November, 2007, MGRA hosted the 23rd Annual IGRA Convention and International Dance Competition in Kansas City with great success and rave reviews. In 2010 MGRA is honored to host an IGRA Board of Directors meeting and Trustees meeting in conjunction with The Show-Me State Rodeo during Labor Day weekend.

MGRA has produced 16 Show-Me State Rodeos since 1986.  In 2009, we were extremely excited to host our rodeo at the Lone Wolf Ranch Arena, just south of Kansas City! This is a new, wonderful facility and a perfect location for gay rodeo. The owners and staff are wonderful to work with and everyone had a great time. Our rodeos include traditional events in rough stock (such as Bronc Riding and Bull Riding), speed and roping categories, as well as camp events.  Along with the rodeo performance is entertainment, dancing, vendors, and other activities.
